Gravar med lyx

Människor begravdes på olika sätt. En del brändes, andra inte. Bland dem som inte brändes fanns gravar med lyxigt innehåll. Lerkärlen visar på kontakter västerut. Glasskålen har sitt ursprung i Rhenområdet. Hur har den hamnat här? Vad lämnades i utbyte? På samma gravfält fanns också några brandgravar med betydligt enklare innehåll i form av lerkärl, delar av en kam mm. Berättar dessa gravar om olika skikt i samhället?

Graves with luxury

People were buried in different ways. Some were cremated, others not. Among the graves of those who were not cremated some have been found with luxurious content. The clay pots indicate contacts towards the west. Glass bowls come from the area of the Rhine. How have they ended up here? What was given in exchange? In the same grave-field graves were found of people who had been cremated and containing considerably simpler provisions such as clay pots, pieces of a comb and so on. Do these graves indicate different levels in society?
